I have a DVD of old family films (home videos). There is a simple menu and eight titles. There is on VOB file for each of the titles. The complete file listing is:

VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_02_0.BUP
VTS_02_0.IFO
VTS_02_1.VOB
VTS_03_0.BUP
VTS_03_0.IFO
VTS_03_1.VOB
VTS_04_0.BUP
VTS_04_0.IFO
VTS_04_1.VOB
VTS_05_0.BUP
VTS_05_0.IFO
VTS_05_1.VOB
VTS_06_0.BUP
VTS_06_0.IFO
VTS_06_1.VOB
VTS_07_0.BUP
VTS_07_0.IFO
VTS_07_1.VOB
VTS_08_0.BUP
VTS_08_0.IFO
VTS_08_1.VOB

My question is how can I edit a small portion of the audio in one of the VOB files. VTS_06_1.VOB has four seconds of really annoying microphone feedback. I would like to record ANYTHING, music, blank audio, talking, even a presidential address over this four seconds.

I have used several tools to demux the VOB file into m2v and ac3 files then into WAV files. I can isolate and edit the audio portion needing editing. The trouble comes when I try to package all this together and back into a working DVD again.

Can anyone here help?

Thanks,
John

Just a friendly word of caution. You are double-posting (see Video Authoring), and that is against forum rules.

Sorry, I am a newbie here, I was unsure where this bet belonged. Any idea for a solution to my dilema? I am becoming quite obsorbed into the world of DVD authoring this past few weeks. I may even be able to contribute to this forum someday.

No biggie, but they'll close you down if you make a habit of it. I answered the other post to the limit of my knowlege. If a senior member knows the rest of the answer, they'll jump in. Or you might wait awhile and then PM (private message) one of them. Let me know if I can help in any way.
