Im having some problems starting this game. i load it in my slimline v12 ps2 with swap magic 3.6 and then swap discs. load it as PAL, then swap with the dvd backup, the game starts and gets to loading screen, then just stops for ages and doesnt move.

Do i need a patch? different media?

sorry im a newbie to all this at the moment!

Any help appreciated.

What media are you using? It may be the media! Or it can be the game if you downloaded it! Or maybe you can try special boot with Swap Magic or.........get DVD Loader and boot the game using DVD Loader! A lot of choices! Try them see if it works!

Oh I forgot to tell you that you can rebuild the game! In case you dont know how here:
after you get the iso made with DVD Decrypter, download iso buster and run it, there shold be a folder to browse for that iso! now that you see all the files excract them all to a location. Now open up Nero burning rom and select dvd-rom(udf/iso) and (do not touch any of the tabs) only the writing speed 2x. Now click "NEW" and then click burn! I had the same problem with nba street v3 and it worked after I did That! So try,(let me know if it worked)!

thanks for the help i will try what you have said.

i bought it from a car boot sale and i cant remember the media used but i do know its a dvd-r. i heard that dvd+r generally seem to work better on ps2 slimlines so will try burning the game to one of my ritek dvd+r's and try that if it dont work then will try rest of your options you gave me.

thanks v much

all i do is stick my ps2 disc in open up iso buster and itll show you all the files on youre disc.then highlight them all(holding shift!).once they are all highlighted right click on them and extract them to a folder on your hard drive.then burn with Nero , making sure they are dropped in the exact same order as you extracted them.burn away!

i 'think' i did that and tried burning to a different better media (ritek dvd+r) and still i get the same result. Do i have to right click the session and choose "find missing files and folders" to rebuild?

Step 1.
Decrypt the ps2 game to your hard drive using dvd decryptor.

Step 2.
Open up Isobuster and load in the image file.

Step 3.
Hold shift and highlight all the game files and put them in a folder.

Step 4.
Open up Nero burning rom and create a new UDF/ISO dvd (It's the last one in the list). Drop all the game files into Nero in the same order as it is listed in Isobuster. Just keep Isobuster open as a reference when you do this. Nero will change the order of the files graphically, however they burn in the order that you dropped them in.

Step 5.
Name the image and burn it at 4x.

Step 6.
Presto, you've rebuilt and burned a PS2 game. Play it.

note:
Some games have dummy files in them.(ie. guilty gear, spider-man 2). They are used to beef up the size of the image and to copy-protect the game. Burning games with the dummy files left unchanged will result in a game that does not boot (using swap magic anyway). To remedy this annoyance follow these fun steps.

Step 1.
Use Isobuster to copy the files to a folder.

Step 2.
Create a new text file. Open it and press the space bar, then close it. This creates a byte of data in the text file.

Step 3.
Rename the text file you made to the same name as the dummy file in your folder. You can point out a dummy file if its called DUMMY.DAT, DUMMY.000, DUMMY.001 etc., GARBAGE.DAT. These files will always be in the main folder of the iso.

Step 4.
Overwrite all those dummy files with the blank ones you've created. (games generally only have 1 dummy file, but some have multiple dummy files)

Step 5.
Patch complete! Burn it.
