Well I can Tell you that Most DVD Burners I have used and seen for sale have needed at least a 800mhz PC as the Minimum requirements and for the Faster Burners(16X) you would probably need a Faster one Like maybe 1.0ghz....

Even with your 833mhz you will have a Hard time Makeing DVD"s because most of the DVD Backup and Encodeing Softwares will Run Terrorably slow on your PC....

If you Invest about $100 you can Upgrade your 833mhz PC to about 2.0ghz and for about $150 to $175 you could get a New Motherboard and an Athlon XP 2900+ which is allmost 4 Times as Fast as your Present Machine and will Run all of the Software you would need to Efficiently make DVD"s without spending say 12 to 36 hours to Compress a Video file so you can Put it on to DVD ....

833mhz Just isn"t Fast enough these days to do any Sort of Video Work in any Efficient Manner....

Cheers

Hi there,
Thanks for the info.
Yes, I am sure that my computer will be too slow to actually make those movie dvd's to view on TV.
However I was looking at the dvd burner to use more as a back up tool. To store large amounts of files in.
What software do you think might be compatible to just copy files unto the DVD.
My specs are listed in my first msg.
