Info -: I have a V9 PAL PS2 Console with flip lid, Swap Magic 3.6
I bought Fight Night Round 2 the NTSC Version (the european PAL version does not have online play)
I have the tools to patch the NTSC game to enable online play from a PAL console, but the problem is that the tools do not work with my version of the PS2 (I have a V9 ps2)
So I have a few choices open to me -:
1) Obtain an NTSC console, and therefore no need to patch the game as the console contains the correct Machine ID and Region coding. All I would need is a step down power convertor for the power supply. My tv can display NTSC signals ok, so no problems with that.
2) Obtain a lower version PS2 V8 < and less which work with the patching tools, and modify this so it can play backups. The console needs to be able to play backups, because I would have to burn an ISO of the game, and then patch it with the relevant software. I already have the swap magic discs, so all I would need is a flip top for the console.
I would prefer an offcial NTSC console, as I would think this would be more stable and less likely to be found by the US game servers region checking methods.
Its all a bit long winded, but I really want to test my boxers skills against the americans lol.
