I apologize for the long post, but It's something I want to remedy soon, and make sure I find what the exact problem is.
I've successfully made quite a few copies of dvd movies using my burner, but in a recent move to save space on my computers, I've used my External Burner to Make a few Data Dvds. I have a series that I put on dvd, and afterwards, tried to access the DVD, and watch one of the videos, but my computer couldn't read it. I saw the files in the browser, but as soon as i clicked on any file or folder, it would freeze, and just have the hour glass. I tried the same DVD on another computer, and it had the same problem. I then figured the DVD was bad, but since the files were off of my computer, I figured I'd make a copy of the Non-working DVD, and I got an error taht it couldn't read the DVD. I then Reacquired the whole series, and tried to burn a fresh copy at 2.4x, in hopes of it working, but I had the exact same problem. I then remembered that I had made a data DVD acouple of weeks earlier, I tried to open it on my computer, and got the exact same problem. I put that in my DVD player, and the player could read it, but none of my computers could. I then realized a memo about before burning, about multi-session. I also remembered hitting no to every time before I burned a Data DVD, and that it said some older versions of Windows couldn't read these DVDs. But both of my computers are Windows XP. Once again, I apologize for the length of my post, but I wanted to give great detail, to help you guys diagnose my problem. Thanks a lot.

Your explanation is appreciated but still more info is needed. What are you using to burn? Software, burner, media etc.

My Burner is a Mad Dog External 16x Burner. The Program that I use is Nero Smartstart, the program that came with the burner. The media I'm using is Dynex. It seems like I'm reading here that the type of Media you use is important. Like I said though, the DVDRs are readable in DVD players, but when I try to read them on my computer, it can't open the files. I just went back and got all of my dvd movies that I had made and tried to open them on my computer, and none of them opened. So, All of my dvds, movies and data are readable in My DVD players, but not on the comptuter that made them. My computer sees the files, but the second i click on any of the files, it freezes and says that it can't read it. If there's anything else I'm leaving out, just mention it.

Thanks
