I have burned a number of movies from different media. Verbatim, Maxell, TDK, and Fuji. While they all play on my DVD player at home, for some reason only the Verbatim Discs play on my portable DVD player. Does anyone know why that is? I usually burn the inkjet printable disc and none of them play on the portable player. However the Verbatim Digital Movie DVDs( The ones that look like a movie reel) are the only ones that I've burnt that aren't printable discs. Could that be the thing? Or does Verbatim have better read performance on their discs? I'm pretty new to this DVD burning thing so please someone enlighten me.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/193298 check out this thread regarding verbatims. I'm pretty sure creaky and kivory will pop in and give you in depth info regarding verbatims. I have used the fuji dvd-r made in japan and they are good. The fujis made in taiwan are not. Do a search and you will find thaqt taiyo yuden and verbatim discs are for the most part used by many in this forum.
