I have been reading the posts, but I still don't get it. During the analyze stage, it stops at 13%. I have read that some of you are not having this problem. How do you get thru/past this in simple, non tech talk? Also, I am reading that decrypter is on the way out? no more updates? what happened from those in the know? Thanks

Make sure you are using the latest DVDDecrypter ver. 3.5.4.O available at

http://www.filepedia.com

under rippers

Rip to your hardrive and then use Shrink. If still experience difficulties with the movie try using DVD43Free a free program also available from filepedia. You can also try the trial version of AnyDVD for 21 days available at

http://www.slysoft.com

As for DVDDecrypter demise read this thread

Hey ppanther, same thing happened to me at 13%. Its a Sony dvd, so I was determined! It took a while, because I have developed slo....w down on both DVD Shrink & decrypter(no cause, DMA is correct/new burner, no viruses, no adware....basically NO CLUE why it became slow as a snail as of yesterday) anyway I finally did "HITCH" in Decrypter, then SHRINK then BURN. Took forever...came out great. Good Luck!

I had the same problems at 13% with Hitch and finally got the trial version of AnyDVD and it worked great for me.

I got through the movie fine with shrink and DDD but something odd kept happening, every time DDD reached a "bad sector" it would recycle the tray and then keep going. Is this normal ? I don't recall this happening on any of my other backups. Just a question out of curioisty. thanx.Just to clarify when it said "recycle" the tray, it would eject the dvd tray and then go back automatically and continue did it 3 times as i recall.

Make sure the cycle tray after errors is unchecked

Tmaxxfan,
Check your settings in DVDD. Under general there is a check box to 'cycle tray after bad sectors' Verify that this is unchecked if you don't want the tray to be cycled. Note; I believe tha'Hitch' has structure and/or bad sector protection.
