I was wonderin how to put video on a cd-r? I have a cd-r a friend gave me with all these video clips on it but i dont know how he did it?

Well it depends, your friend maybe gave you .AVI clips which are probabbly coded through a program or other, and he may have just wrote them as DATA files, if he gave you a (S)VCD, he just got some other program an decoded them and then wrote them as data files, although Nero has an assistant for doing VCD, in either case Nero can easily help you make a VCD so you can watch it on your DVD :)

generally speaking the files need to be converted to mpeg1 before you can get them to svcd or vcd.You really needed to post this question into the forum below and then you will probably get more help.

But the movies could also be DVIX encoded or .AVI clips which are written just as data files, and also need to be encoded, I think AD has guides for creating VCD, and encoding to DVIX.

avi is just the carrier.
avi is : includes divx /xvid/ avi

You did note i did say generally.
