Did you try to transfer something? If you were not able to FTP into your xbox, see the drives available C, F, etc...then your connection was not successful. If that is the case, then I still offer you my prior recommendation. Either that, or buy a cheap LAN card...add it to your PC and just use a crossover cable to connect your xbox to your PC. Either way, you will need a static IP setup between the two connections.

lonewolf, you said your dns servers are 192.168.0.3 and things like that, that's not correct, those are your router ips, if you get on your pc and click start, run, then type "cmd" hit ok, from the dos prompt, type in "ipconfig /renew" you will see your dns servers

The more info you give, the easier it would be to help you.
Is your setup and attempt a direct connection, xbox to pc via a crossover cable?
Or is it over a network by using a router or hub of some sort?

Do you mean a LinkSys router? Either way, your setup should be easily done then. Plug your xbox into the router. Make sure that DHCP is enable on the XBOX and on your PC. Turn on your XBOX and the IP should be displayed on the main screen of your dashboard. Us that to create a connection in your FTP Client. The user name and password is usually xbox & xbox.
That should be it, try to connect and post if you have other problems.

That is exactly what I mean. My setup between my main xbox and PC is like this:
(Also liste above)
PC
Static IP:..... 192.168.1.100
Subnetmask......255.255.255.0
DefaultGateway..192.168.1.1
DNS.............202.128.7.1
DNS.............202.128.31.1
XBOX
Static IP:..... 192.168.1.200
Subnetmask......255.255.255.0
DefaultGateway..192.168.1.1
DNS.............202.128.7.1
DNS.............202.128.31.1
http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm That link will help you to setup a static IP on your PC...write down the info so you can inout it in your xbox as well.

With the EvoX are you going down to the bottom
where it says save & exit and clicking on that?
I have EvoX and it saves all my changes just fine?
On mine using a Cat 5 cable (patch cable, Crossover cable)
I have my static IP set to off.
I had to set up internet sharing on my main connection so
that the LAN connection would work. Once i did that and
hooked up the cable it assigned an IP adress to the Xbox
and as tEChniiQue said then i just took the IP that it
assigned to the Xbox and entered that in FlashFXP and put
in the username and password both as xbox(all lowercase)
Then it would connect. where the IP address can be eneter into
the xbox manually i entered 1 number higher than what it listed on
my LAN connection in the PC
Like if the PC LAN said it was 198.168.0.1
I entered 198.168.0.2 into the xbox.
The subnet mask and default gateway were the same as listed above.
If he can't help you get it working i am not sure who can.

I'm sorry if I come off as extremely uninformed but a friend of mine set up FlashFXP for me and showed me how to connect my modified xbox and computer to transfer files. It has worked fine for about 2 months but recently I haven?t been able to connect to my xbox. I haven?t changed any settings so I have no idea what could be wrong. Could have something to do with my xbox settings or my FlashFXP settings?

@MartyT
First thing you should do is check to make sure your Site information within FXP is the same as you xbox's info. I'm referring mainly to the IP. If your connection is DHCP, the IP is the onlyy thing that might have changed if you have maunally changed anything.
Make sure the IP on the XBOX matches the IP set for the xbox in FXP.

That's what I don't get because they do match. The user name and Password are both "xbox" and I was told that the port number didn't matter. Connection failed(Connection timed out) is all I get so it has to be somethinng other than the IP address. Thanks for the response

How is your setup? Direct connection with a crossover cable or via a router or hub? Make sure your PC and XBOX don't have the same IP as well.

It is hooked up through a router and I'm pretty sure that the PC IP address is not the same. How would I check if I was wrong?

For the PC
Click Start ->
Run ->
Then type - cmd ->
Click O.K. ->
When the black box appears type:
ipconfig/all
All your info will be displayed for the PC's settings including the IP.
edit:
If you're not using a static IP, I'd recommend it. Yes it's a little more work and DHCP is a lot easier but you will never have to worry about IP conflicts on your network. You can set that up for your xbox and PC...lemme know if that's what you wanna do and I'll be glad to help.

I'm using Evox and it has been set to static IP in settings and I would rather keep it like it is to keep things familiar.

Hi guys,
>>> I HAVE RESOLVED MY PROBLEM. STUPID ME. OKOK IM AND XBOX NOOBIE.
I want to copy files from my PC to my xbox. I have a modded xbox with xecuter2. WindowsXP and flashFXP. Router with DHCP config. All connected using straight through cables.
To configure flashFXP to connect? I think i basically want to know is how to identify the ip that my xbox has been given? How to identify all system info of my xbox would be great?
Is there an easier way to connect to my xbox from windows (without flash)?
Thanks guys.
Much appreciated.
