I am using dvd decrypter to try and back up my dvds, but always at the same point on certain movies the read rate just gives out, and read errors occur. I've tried the process several times, and the message keeps occuring. If anyone could help i would greatly appreaciate it.

It does not like your disk, try cleaning it or take it back and get another original. The disk is either scratched, dirty, smudged or has an imperfection in it.

Alright guys, thanks for the help...I hope we can get a little futher. Yes the error does occur at the same place on the disk. I am not sure what this means. Also, I think you are right about the disk being scratched because the dvdr sounds like it is working extra hard to decrypt the disk at this point

check out ScubaPete's guides (links are in arniebear's and my sig) and find where he talks about hard to rip DVDs. He shows you some setting tweaks that may get past your troubles.
