you are a NO GO on the booktyping for Pioneers..i own the dvr-109, and to this day, still CAN NOT booktype using that particular drive, but, i DO have to say it's VERY fast and a solid burner~ :)

well, i stand behind my trusty pioneer 109 since it still performs like the best of them out there...i just haven't managed to find a way to booktype it YET, perhaps some newer modified firmware in the future will do the trick? i dunno~ if someone DOES find a way to do it, i would appreciate the knowledge as i WILL do it on mine~ :)

good day to you creaky, i have the biggest headache now from my most recent "thought out" post...please see if you agree with what i said here...

I should have been scouting sooner. I could have told you right away pioneers are not booktype/bitsetting capable. #1 reason I am not a pioneer fan. I hear they do perform well with dvd-r's since their from the same camp.

a-ha - i thought i remembered you mentioning pioneer and bitsetting before. Sorry i had used google instead as it's usually quicker than searching on afterdawn, google is more forgiving sometimes on searches.
plus it didn't help that i was looking for booktyping and forgot that bitsetting was the term i was really after :)
