My backup ps2 games will boot once, but when I try to boot them a second time they will not. I was told to change the book type to create DVD-ROM's, but Dvd Decrypter won't do it. Can It be made to comply, is that even my problem? What should I do?
i have never haerd of such a problem. If they work once, then they should work every time.
As far as DVD Decrypter do not change anything, install it and start burning. the only thing i have ever changed was the write speed.
A little more help with more information:
1. what media are you using (brand, speed, +R or -R)
2. what speed are you burning at
3. does this happen with every game you back up
4. do your originals still work fine
5. what kind of modification did you make to your PS2 (modchip, swap magic & slidecard, swap magic & magic switch)
6. is the system a new slim or older style and what version is it
7. PAL or NTSC
1. I used verbatim DVD+R?s (Mitisubishi Chemicals Corp). But more recently I tried some DVD-R?s instead (Fujifilm).
2. 2.4X is the lowest supported speed I can get so that?s what I use.
3. Yes; I have tried backing up three different games several times for each. I was met with similer results for each attempt; most of the backups would boot once, but none would boot twice.
4. Yes, checked them each after my recent failures.
5. I?m using Swap Magic 3.6 and a Slide Card.
6. Older style, V5 to be precise.
7. NTSC
Thanks everyone, I fixed my problem. As it turns out I was refreshing the TOC mechanisim on my swapmagic 3.6 every time before booting my game. I won't go into more detail than that because to tell the truth I feel kind of stupid. I majorly overcomplicated a problem caused by simple user error. Thanks for your help anyway.
