I got the movie Hitch and I want to make my backup. I used dvd shrink and it just stops at 13% of opening the disc. All other movies have been fine. Is this because a new copy protection? How can I get around this?

hi there

You need to get a program ro decrypt the dvd and remove the copy protection. something like DVD Decrypter should do the trick.
hopefully helpfull. If not do a search something should turn up.

k i was having the same problem about 3 days ago but with messing around with a couple of programs it worked. Ok first what i did is have the AnyDVD newest program up in the background. This is to bypass the encryption that it has on it. Open DVD Decrypter go to Mode, ISO, & Read. Then click on the Green arrow. Once it finishes be sure to eject the Movie out & put your Blank DVDR in there. Finally go back to Mode, ISO, & Write. Click the Green arrow. This should burn the copy to your Blank DVDR. Let me know on how that works for you & if not i have another method for you.. Happy burning..:o)

hey guys thanks so much for your quick input. My only problem with these methods is that my dvd media is only 4.6 gigs. Thats why I needed DVD Shrink. any ideas?

I think that it is being suggested that you use dvddecrypter (to remove the protection) then use dvdshrink.

Get AnyDVD...has a free 21 day trial. I did...use that in the backround while using shrink and it copied Hitch with no problems

DVD Decrypter ver 3.5.4.0 in file mode handles this DVD (region code 1) without any problems.

@cynthia_ - Hitch must be a popular film or ppl have swarmed into the dvd burning game, as in the 6mths i've been here i've not seen so many ppl haveing so much trouble with one movie. Even Spanglish didn't generate this much noise. I'm trying to keep off the Hitch threads as it's just crazy...

(guess i'll now have to unsubscribe from this one!)

The # 1 must be Resident Evil or Eternal sunshine. It's funny - you never see any posts about those movies any more.

in regards to Hitch it gave me a fit also but i searched around and found(intervideo dvd copy 3) it allowed me to burn it, only the movie. no extras, fine for me it also works on all the other problem dvd's. Do not try to burn the extras. IT will freeze. its a demo try it.

@kivory666, lol. At the time i got around Res Evil 2 via PSL codes provided by (i think) Lightning UK himself on his official site.

@grafton - there are plenty Stealth threads on afterdawn (too many in fact) so you'd best do a search...
