Save the cheap media for MOVIES and get quality media.
Also burn at the slowest "supported speed" using dvd decrypter.

Start dvd decrypter right click your rw drive.
First check for firmware updates.
After that is complete.
Put a quality blank media into your drive.
Goto mode iso write (using dvd decrypter).
IN THE BOX ON THE RIGHT YOU WILL SEE "SUPPORTED WRITE SPEEDS".
These are the speeds that you can Correctly burn (USING THE MEDIA THAT IS INSERTED.)
It will vary from one media maufacturer to another.
(Go with the SLOWEST SUPPORTED SPEED)

cvele, I have the same similar problem as you do too. Wasted many sleepless nights trying to figure out what went wrong. Have been trying all recommendation w/o success.
R u using samsung TS-H552 as ur driver? Saw from ur i/o error. I'm using this too. Start to have bad feeling it is the drive since we are having the same problem.
Hope someone out there can help.
