I don't think we are bad mouthing Taiwan made disks! It's just that the manufacturer's ID (who made them) is the point, not the place! Please check out this site: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
then get your manufacturers ID from DVDIfo Pro or DVDIdentifier and check that list!

Also we are talking about the quality of the disk itself! If they are made as first class disks (what's on the list of First Class in Digital FAQ) then those disks should last 30-100 yrs as said in this web page: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
read about longevity! that's what I'm talking about!
