Well I life in a port city in Colombia, so I started my Day and went looking to buy some Mini-DVD'S and a DVD+R DL, i went downtown and found some mini DVD'S at a dollar each, and went looking for my DL disk after looking everywhere they told me to look in a mall and no luck either then after some peers told me to go to a store in the city where Ill find this media (One of the few), so the only one available was the Imation DVD+R DL, I kept looking and no luck the Imation was the only one to be found, so I bought 1, it burned ok I booktyped it to DVD-ROM worked in DVD player, Laptop, DVD-R0M, well The media ID was Ricohjpn, supposly is 2nd class media but I wanna know other user experiences with this media, I wanna know if investing my money on this media is safe, due to the fact that I have to invest almost 11 dollars per disc. ;) gl everyone

You again :) How is Columbia* hehe

2nd class media I would consider quality media still. That's great to know about the Imation DL's though :)

I Just ordered a 3 Pack of Verbatim DVD+R DL which I can know they are 1st class media, but it is still difficult to find other brand than Imation (I mean when talking about DVD+R DL) in my city, I think not even one store has it, and the cost is so high because these media is really really new here it just came not so long ago (3 or 4 months probbably), while with that money I can buy 23 DVD-R (yea the cost 50 cents each here) I was just wandering if that invesment was worth it, and also wanted to hear from other people if they had used the disc and what where their experiences, although Ive never trusted imation for DVD issues.

I consider ricohjpn to be very good media. Even though it is 2nd class media I would put it at the very top of the 2nd class media list.

Hello everyone,

DVD+R DL are still around $10.00can each also.

I'm too chicken/cheap to try some :)
They are still too expensive.

Who has experience burning some DL with Nero ?

I read a few times, that software/burner doesn't write the layer jump properly ( Are these the right words? ).

Burning 8Gb of Data and/or DVD-Video with Nero, does it burn the layer information properly ?

Should I expect any problems with DL ?
I currently have 0 problems with Single Layer and Nero (and all other programs)...

Dont expect many problems with DL media, and dont be chicken they are worth it in some cases ( a concert in which the sound file was to big that even shrink could not shrink it to 4.7 GB), about compatibility you should book type it to DVD-ROM or dont expect alot of compatibility.....I "backup" ejem ejem My AC_DC Concert (it really rules, "because in T.N.T.") burnt at 2.4x and book type it to DVD-ROM it worked in my standalone, my laptop my dvd-rom, if you cant booktype expect lots of problems with that issue (most players dont recognize the DVD+R DL ID) about Nero unable to change layer, BS!! I burned my "backup" with Nero and it changed layer flawlessly, and it does burn layer flag propertly, so dont be scared go and buy a pack and start burning!!! (remember booktype to DVD-ROM, or all will be in vane :( ) Ive had 0 problems with these DL disc from Imation (RICOH), so I dont think you will have problems yourself...GL !!!!! ;)
