NEF files and CD burner

Hello everyone...my first time here...my problem is a headache...i use nikon D1x and it creates NEF files in raw format, which is what i want...my problem is I CANT burn CD's...it wont do it..NERO pukes on it....I tried CDblaster,PicstoCD,droptoCD and ofcourse window media and no success...intermitent problem with all of them..it might occasionaly burn bunch and it wont do it again...I also disabled my firewall and antivirus system...is there such a beast to burn nikon format files on CD or DVD and what am i doing wrong...I would appreciated yours all help..Thank u kindly
