I use the fine-point sharpie. I put the title, date, and program used to burn. Kind of anal, but this way if it goes bad, I know when I burned it and what program I used.

here is the link for the +Rs:

http://supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-silver-thermal-8x-dvd-plus...

I use them all the time and I use also use a fine point sharpie but I don't put anything on there other than the name of the movie and it's leading star. they also have [BOLD]REGULAR WHITE INJET PRINTABLE[BOLD]

http://supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-dvd-plus-r-media.html

Does that mean that you can print right on to the DVD with your inkjet??? how is that possible? or does it mean you can put a label on it? Does anyone know about this?

You need a printer made for printing directly on DVD/CDs such as:

http://supermediastore.com/primera-signature-z1-cd-dvd-printer.html

The use of labels is not recommended! - Don't use them

thanks for the enlightenment on DVD labels. I knew long ago not to put labels on DVDs but these new ones might be cool. but to spend another 150 or so to do it and then all those ribbons for the printer....... I don't know if it's worth it...... I'm only backing up my DVDs. it's a hobby not a vocation or a business!

Maxell DVD-R 4.7GB RITEKG05.... 8x these are the MADE IN TAIWAN ones~

hope that helps you out~:) i consider these G05s BETTER than the Prodisc MIT ones on the fuji's~ just for your info~ :)

I have a question........ I burn Taiyo Yuden DVD+R 8x.......when I use my programs to burn it allows me to burn at 16x.........I know, I found out that I should burn at no more than 8x but have never had a problem with higher speeds! why are my programs allowing me to burn 8x Yuden disks at 16x?

24. June 2005 @ 05:48 _ Link to this message    Send private message to this user
because the quality of Taiyo Yuden is REALLY that good to allow overburning (speed wise) :P i can easily burn all my 8x TYs @16x on my pioneer dvr-109~, but i don't..i keep everything @8x to ensure flawless burns personally~ :P

@movies, anytime i can be of service, i help when i can, good luck w/ your media~ :P i have really nothing against you if that is what you implied by "wasn't expecting a response"...but, you're welcome~

i hit a best buy in ft wirth and grabbed two verbatim dvd +r. at checkout, it came to over $60, one of the dvd +r was the 4x, which was $40, so i just got one of the 8x for $19.99.
i stopped by the southlake best buy after work and got about 3 more at $19.99. with those 200, and the 100 that just came in from amazon last week, i should be set for at leat a month or two.
i was out of cash and will have to keep an eye out for another sale.
dvd decrypter is still going strong!

I did not buy the 50 pack at Best Buy, but I found a 5 pack in jewel cases of Verbatim 8x + and - for 2.69USD each. They have white tops and they code to MCC02RG20 and MCC003. I just was interested because I never have seen White top Verbatims.
