Help! DVD Shrink/Decrypter not working after reformating my drive

When I backup a dvd using the same method I used to use, all of a sudden the discs I burn are not able to be read in my dvd player, when before everything worked perfect.
I recently had to reformat my computer. I got a new copy of DVD Shrink and DVD decrypter and loaded them on. I put a disc in my internal drive (the one to be backed up) and put a blank dvd+r in my external dvd burner (same pack of discs that used to work fine).
I open Shrink and analyze the file, make the necessary changes (edit out subtitles, etc.) and hit backup. Once it is done, it opens dvd decrypter like it should and appears to burn everything perfectly, saying the operation is complete. However, when I play it in my dvd player on my TV, it just blinks "reading" and nothing happens.
Do I have any settings or anything wrong? This is so frustrating seeing as how it worked perfectly before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check Windows updates (XP sp2 wrecked havoc on my PC), software updates, driver updates etc. Also, try to remember if you used other (older) versions of certain software. Sometimes the newest versions cause problems and you might have switched to older versions.
Sometimes updates do more harm than good...

hi
could be a one off bad disc out of the pack? but like mentioned are all your drives in like via4in1, aspi layers...
i have all windows xp updates and all is kool... but i use a slipstreamed xp disc with sp2 already in i dont update sp1 to sp2, i think it makes a difference?

nope...computer is new with XP2 already installed...i think it is as simple as a setting in DVD Shrink or decrypter, b/c I used clone dvd to back up and it worked....

did you use a booktype software or dvd decrytor s booktype software for your dvd+R to make it more comapatible to dvd-rom standard of -R by any chance?

not sure, I am using DVD Shrink and dvd decrypter's default settings - as far as I know, its the same settings I used before I reformatted, which worked fine. I use dvd +r's because they work better than the -r's on my dvd player.

not sure then as -R is said to be more comaptible but if you say -R are no good on your system, dont know?
i wonder if you made them with a booktype setting in DvdD?
have you tested -R in your player then and what happened?
what is your drive called?

hey...I have a plextor 716...its weird b/c I never changed any settings. Just out of curoiusity, I have a program called pocket dvd studio to put avis on my treo, and recently I have to d/l some codecs for I could record to movies to my phone. could that have affected anything?

not sure could be codec related as we need those...
i only use one pack of codec that has everyone you need! its called K-LITE MEGA pack from www.free-codecs.com
whats a TREO?

I think that is what I have too (K-lite, but I think it is the basic pack...)
A treo is a smartphone by palmOne..pretty sweet, check it out

there are a few k-lite
i used klite all in one and had problems so uninstalled it and use mega pack...
