Hi guys.

I hate to start a new thread, but I am having problems with lag on the games in my title. I am using an NEC burning that works great on DVDs, an AMD 2.5 GHz (IIRC)processor for a computer, Maxell 8x DVD-R media, and a brand new PS2 V12 with swap magic/slide cards. I use DVD Decryptor on 1X everytime.

I have successfully burned MGS 3 with an Imation DVD-R, Tekken 5 with these Maxells, and AC5 with Maxell and they all work perfectly (thanks to this forum). But my MVP 2005 burn lags a lot, San Andreas lags, and CH 2K5 (Sega) goes to a black screen (used an Imation 8X DVD-R on CH).

Should I try some Verbatim DVD+Rs or buy a new media altogther? I know EA games usually require a patch, but some reports here have indicated that MVP and GTAsa do not need patches/rebuilding. I want to get these to work before I try rebuilding God Of War.

Thanks!

Tried SA on a Verbatim 8X DVD+R and it loaded, then lagged and then froze up. I'll try cleaning the lens, but I seriously doubt it needs cleaning. Any idears?
