I am looking for an utility that will take any format video files (AVI, MPEG-1,MPEG-2, MPEG-4, NEW MP4, H.264) and join or split them. Is there any software like this?

Well the "Honestech Video Editor Pro v7.0" will edit and Join files of Pretty Much any format but the Problem I have with it is that when it has to use Compression it takes forever and the Quality isn"t very good.....

If you want a Full Featured Editor then try something like "Adobe Premier Pro 1.5" with the "MainConcept Mpeg Pro HD" Plugin which adds Mpeg editing Features to Premier but these are Pretty complicated programs.....

I have Premiere Pro, I didn't know it was compatible with the new MP4 codec, H.264?

I personally use Magix music Maker

it does everything from sound to vidoe etc...
