I have downloaded SID and im using the ntsc file for splinter cell. I saved it using action replay to an original memory card not the one that came with actionplay as i was told that could corrupt the file. when i start the game and i try to load linux it goes to a big black screen with 21 on it, and some writing in chinese.

any help to what went wrong would be helpful.

If you turn off the xbox and restart it without a game in the tray, does it boot to the MS dash? If so, You probably didn't transfer all the files over. I believe there are 3 files you need to transfer..or atleast the way I did it there was 3.

Other than that, I have no idea.
