first off i must say, this is my last resort i have search nearly every forum and not one piece of info helps me. I have a dvd burn and i am using TDK DVD-R's. My ps2 is version 5 or 6. I have tried nearly everything and have wasted a bunch of dvds while at it. Please list something that will help me and i do have a mod- chip and it plays burnt game i bought from this guy of the internet. If u can help me please do..........
What game is it your trying to burn? What modchip is it? What are using to burn? Run one of those TDK's through this program and let us know the media code. http://dvdidentifier.cdfreaks.com
I dont know what mod chip it is, i have used dvd decypter to copy the iso to my hd and isobuster and Nero to burn the files in the correct order, the dvd wouldnt even boot. the best results i have had are using DVD Decrypter to read and write the iso and i get the ps2 logo then i get a blank black screen that just stays there. By the way I am trying to burn The Getaway Black Monday. I am in a PAL region so I dont Need to convert types, I live in australia and your last question my disk identifyer code is [DVD-R:TTG02]. Right ok. You could do with finding out the Modchip. Because if its something like a DMS4 Pro, that requires you to flash the bios before it will even boot anything up. Those TTG02 disks are good. High quality TDK, I thought you may have got the cheap crap. The Getaway black monday should burn using Mode Iso Read, Mode Iso Write. There should be no need to rebuild it I dont think. What speed are you trying to burn at? So try and find out the name of your modchip, and try and back up another game using DVD Decrypter to read and write the iso and see if that works.
thanks but the thing is i bought my ps2 already chipped so how would i find out, with the last resort taking it appart. I read at 4x and wrote at 1x. Basically the only thing I dont know is what chip it is but if u could, could u help me out with that? I cant try any other game because i borrowed 1 off my mate and i cant write it again cuz ive already returned it. All i have is the iso and the other file that is produced when u read the game. cheers
i have some already copied games that came with the ps2 would it still work if i tested using DVD Decrypter to make another copy or do i need the origional
Ok try burning at 4x not 1x. That may help. A lot say burn at the slowest speed possbile, while that is true and helps a lot of the time, it is just a matter of trial and error. I burn at 4x and never had any trouble at all. Hmmmm there is no way really I can help you find out what mod chip it is. Could you contact the place where you got it? The modchip issue is probably not that big anyway, just need to make sure everything is set up right.
EDIT: Just read your second post. So your saying that you have other backups that came with your PS2? Non original games? If thats the case, just put them in your PS2 and see if they play. Dont need to reburn them with Decrypter.
Easy solution. Just use DVD Decrypter. No need for ISO Buster and Nero on most games. Especially if it is a decent mod chip.
MODE->ISO->READ to put it on your hard drive
MODE->ISO->WRITE (set to 1X) to burn to a disc
If 1X doesn't work you can try 4X, but it will burn at the best speed for the disc if it is set at 1X.
P.S. finding out what mod chip you have could be quite important. Some are better than others. Like mentioned, DMS4 and Matrix Infinity chips have flash upgrades. Others do not. Also you mentioned having other games (back ups) that worked so i am sure your system is working fine, and if you did not use swap magic then it is a direct boot chip(meaning no need for boot discs)
