how can i increase the speed in bittorent

i have a powerbook g4 and i connect to the internet with a wireless network at home. we have highspeed but the downloads at bittorent are really slow. how can i speed up the bittorrent?
if anybody can help me or give me some advices i will be really happy. thank you for your time...

What OS you're using? I heared somewhere that setting internet package frame size in registry can speed up things.

Make sure you open up yours ports. Also, if you have a cable modem, set up a static ip. I had my ports open for a long time and I didn't start to get fast downloads untill I set my ip to static.

it's on the site

this is the way to do it for my router, all you have to do is use your default gateway instead of the listed one
