PS2 games are actually pressed DVD/CD discs, they are not burned. PS2 games use the Burst Cutting Area (BCA) of the disc to identify themselves to the PS2 unit. The BCA is not part of a disc that you can burn on, it is only replicated on pressed discs.
So, the only way to play backups is to get boot-discs or a mod-chip.
hey i have a problem with burning ps2 games. I have the dvd decrypter but do i need anything else? i also have a dvd burner. when i go to burn my files to the disc, it says medium not found, disc tray closed. is this because i am using the wrong disc because i am using maxwell dvd+r. plz help!!!

Apparently one of our server's timezone got switched when we had to boot it. The posts posted during this period are 2 hours off and can't be really changed now, so they just look silly and nothing much we can do about it. This shouldn't appear in posts posted after this moment (note: shouldn't :-). Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
