aight ill start from the begining...

1.i purchased a dvd and wanted 2 save it 2 my pc
so i put the disk in the dvd drive

2.dragged and dropped the files drectly from the dvd drive folder
to my documents folder.

3.the files (8)were playable as power dvd files..
i noticed that the files were taking up some needed space
so i wanted to put them on a dvd so i can watch them in my home dvd unit.

4.the total ammount of gigs are about the 6 gb range
to big to burn a a regular dvd disk(4.7gb)

5.tried using shrink but it wont let me drag and drop files using
re-author.instead it keeps saying invalid file name

6.i wanted to know if there is any way 2 shrink the VOB files
down 2 around the 4 gig rate and burn it to a dvd
for use on my dvd player

call me tek da snowman...

Try this: in Shrink go to Re-Authur. On the right hand side you can add the video_ts folder from wherever it's stored. Double click on it or drag over to the left side of the screen. Click backup. In backup set your target device to the ISO image file burn with DVDD option in the drop down.

if you used the decrypter to rip there should be a file named after the title of the movie the vts file would be inside of this file
please start from the beggining and tell us the method used to get this far

some of the newer titles have decryption that shrink just cannot beat you might need a program such as DVD Decrypter (free) to break the encryption for DVD Shrink to compress let me know if this works

Rip the movie back to your HD using Shrink - use the open disc option- Shrink will take the files and compress them to fit on a regular DVD. When clicking back up under target device check the "ISO image file burn with DVDD" option in the drop down to burn with DVDD.
Are you trying to do a movie? If so which one?

so you only have vob files and 8 of them? and you dont have the ifo or bup files? if so thats why you wont get dvd apps to read them!

now you can make a new set of ifo / bup to go with your 8 vobs!

use ifoedit and load the app up and click the button CREATE IFO bottom center, use the same destination folder as your vobs.

now load to dvd shrink! for copressing and burn with dvd dercypter...

(you may get hassle as you never ripped the protection out of the vobs!) as you copy and pasted to hard drive!

Nothing here to see, move along folks.
