Recently I moddded my box. 2 tone spray paint, see through dvd drive, dvd window,light up jewel, and the Xecuter 2.6 lite. after 2 months of happiness, I was watching Anchorman on my box when it started to click...i thought wtf so just before i restarted it...IT FRAGGED red/green. I was pissed, but i restarted the box, all was fine and it played for 5 mins then fragged. So I then got a list of the frag codes(1-21) and I had errors ranging from timing out, hard drive unresponsive to dvd failure, out of 21 possible errors I had 13 of them and never the same one twice. Now it's been good latley, i still have no idea what's up, sometimes it will act up. sometimes it will be fine. It will occasionally freeze up online with Halo 2 but that's it. Now that I've left u baffled as to my problem have a good day :)

Is the clicking coming from the hard drive? If it is, the hard drive is junk. Also check the ide cable.

The ckicking is comming from the DVD Drive as it tried to start up the disk.

Your Dvd drive might be failing.......what type of drive do you have and how old is the Xbox???
