Whats the deal? I've been reading through alot of posts (hopefully this isn't a repeat post) and it seems the ovbious choice for media is the verbatim....but I also hear that RITEK is good media, especially for DVD DL writing, which is what I'm mainly concerned with here. Just wondering why my media shows up as RITEK in DVDID but the brand name says memorex??? is my media good bad or middle??

Also maybe someone can tell me what kind of dye is used in these disks and what kind of dye is best??

Ritek is a decent brand. How do they code out. Most Ritek use the AZO dye.

Memorex is "crap" media to quote a few forum users. They mainly use CMC-MAG disks which are terrible. But one thing I noticed about Memorex is they use different suppliers. I've seen Prodisc, MMC, Ritek etc.In other words, you never know what you can expect..But mainly you get CMC-MAG which are not good.
Stay away from Memorex.
The Ritek you got should work fine, but you were lucky this time.
