any suggestions for the best type of recordable media to use with decrypter and shrink??? i am having trouble with TDK...

hi

dont quote me but i think sony bought or imported from japan are TY one of the best.

but the brand name doesnt mean mush here! you need the ID code from the disc also! as can be different on same brand dics!

either buy from a website that tells you this code or place a disc in your drive and use app like dvd indentifier or dvdinfo pro to tell you the id codes!

heard the word "media" so i came a running..that last comment lost me too rotary~ :)

i would agree with your recommendations as well...i will only stick w/ what i KNOW and have come to use daily...TY, Verbatim, and Ritek..in that order of my own personal preference~

i have some maxell's and sony as well, but, at least here in the U.S., you got to be careful as to which ones you buy, as the manufacturers can/are different w/ said brands.

maxell's are decent for me, but, not in the top 3 of my list...they are not bad, but, that's just personal preference on my part. sony 8x dvd+r if MADE IN JAPAN here in the states will USUALLY code out as YUDEN000T02, which are great TY media~ that's just an example~ :)

good luck, if you need any more "Tricks" that i use to find a particular manufacturer, i'd be more than happy to share them with you riddle29~

If you're located in the US and don't shop online, then I suggest you to go to your local Best Buy, Walmart, Kmart, Target and get the Fuji 8X DVD+R(made in Japan), MAXELL 8X DVD+R(made in Japan) and Sony 8X DVD+R(made in Japan). These are some of the top quality medias in the market now-a-days. I highly recommended them due to the fact that I've had 500 plus of backed up in dvd movies and PS2 games, and they all played flawlessly.
