Admittedly, I'm a newb and only recently starting ripping DVDs for playback on my PDA. Used DVD to PPC 1.2.5 for the initial rip and 4CU to convert the .AVI to .WMV. My apologies if I screwed up any of the program names.

My first issue is that when playing the .WMV on my PPC (using BetaPlayer and WMP), I'm notcing that the sound is kind of 'fuzzy' at higher volumes (really, at any volume) and certain parts of the video with alot of movement become distorted. Would someone with previous experience be able to guide me as to what I'm doing wrong. These are being played on an Audiovox XV6600 if that helps.

Secondly, I'm looking to have more control of the quality but with all the software out there, I'm not sure which way to go. Ideally, I want the highest quality rip possible - video and sound. From there, I'd be looking to convert it whilst changing the resoution and adjusting the sound for best fit and performance. Any advice as to how I should go? I was going to try Canopus ProCoder and Adobe Premiere to for the second conversion to PPC - that's where I figured I'd change the resolution and adjust sound quality. However, I'm not sure which DVD Ripper to use to get maximum quality.
