I'm hoping that with all the expertise on this site that, the experts will have an answer to this question. I'm capturing video with a pcchips capture card from a cable source. I wish to convert these mpeg2 files to DVD video files to view on a standard DVD player. Whats the most user friendly program available for this purpose. Thanks!

Well if its standard for DVD already there will be no re-encoding required.

Basically you have to author the DVD, which is the process of changing your MPEG files into DVD files (IFO, VOB etc.) and then you can simply burn them with something like Nero.

You have a lot of options for authoring but I'll make some suggestions.

The program is not free but simple.

My personal favourite, not free but an excellent utility.

Free utility :-)

Other options include rejig, IFOEdit...
Demux the mpg into elementary streams.
Open the program, select the video, select the audio, create dvd.
These produce a VIDEO_TS folder, which you then burn to dvd.
You don't get any menus or chapters though.

Black holes are where God divided by zero...

Ye there are so many options right now to author a DVD. Although I think those I stated are the best idea for someone who hasnt done it before.
