Just got a Plextor Dual Layer Burner (716A).

What brand of media works best w/Plextor drives.

I was thinking about Verbatims, since a Verbatim blank DVD was included in the box w/ the burner????????

Was wondering what others opinions were??

I have used Ridata, Verbatims before w/ success, but nothing yet w/ this burner.

Also does anyone know how to set the Max. burning speed using Plextor Tools???

I believe Plextor recommends Verbatim. I use Verbatim, TY and Maxell on my Plextor and they all work out well, test out excellent :~)

I use TY and Verbatim 8x +Rs, this drive seems to love'em. I'm have v2.23 of PlexTools. To set the burn speed, click on your drive in the top left, then just below that click on Drive Settings, click on the tab VariRec (DVD), enable

You can only set burn settings when you only have a blank disc in the burner.

Ppower I just got my burner on Thursday and the version of plaxtools it came w/ was 2.20.

The sticker on the writer shows it was made by Plextor in May 2005.

How do I get the version you have ??
