The disk plays fine on my computer but when I insert it into my DVD player it says "Unable to play due to area space limitation". I am guessing I have too much space tooken up on my DVD, approximately 3.9GB with about 5MB left. I used Nero to burn the disk, anyone know what the problem is and how I can get around it? Thanks!

I had somewhat of a similar problem. The problem may be in the way you burned it with Nero. Which program of Nero did you use?

the 3.9 g's should not be the problem I agree with dvdripdvd and say it is in the method used to burn check your defaults on your Nero app some thing could have caused it to start ar end to close to the edge.

I used Nero Startsmart to burn the DVD. I don't know if I did something I shouldn't have but the files did seem a little to big for MPEG files. They started out as bin and cue files so I used dvdgear to convert them to MPEG so I could burn them. The outcome for each file was 300MB more for each that they had started. One CD had start out at 700MB and was now over 1GB, same with the other one.

What program of Nero StartSmart are you using. If you are buring mpeg's try using NeroVision Express. (It's what I use)

I used NeroVision Express 3 to burn it.
I already deleted the files of the movie. I have a quick question real fast though. How would I burn A VOB movie? I am afraid to do anything anymore, whenever I burn anything it doen't work, just a wast of DVD's. :(

What speed are you using to burn it?

A lot of people will tell you that 16x is a good speed to burn but in my opinion that speed may cause errors in playback. My usual speed 4x which takes about 15 minutes.

Wow!!!!!!!!!! Im impressed 16x!!!!!! never burn DVD movies at that speed...errors incompatilibity and other similar problems with arise..so just burn at 4x max for your dvd movies just wait 10 more min and be sure your movie is 100% error free so try burning at 4x and tell us if you get the same error.

PS: If you burned a 3.9GB movie with 5mb left, where did the other space go?? DVD's are 4.3GB ;)

Well, I already deleted the files for the movie so it's too late to go back and burn it again. I don't think I would if I could either. Maybe it's just my DVD player that's the problem. I'll keep the DVD just have something to watch on my comp once in a while. Thanks for the help. and can you answer my other question please?

How would I burn A VOB movie? I am afraid to do anything anymore, whenever I burn anything it doen't work, just a wast of DVD's. Would I burn it the same way I would burn any other movie?

Hi,

Burning at 16x is still a sales pitch for me.

I am about to add more memory to my PC, but right now, I burn everthing at 2x and still have 100% results, even on the cheapest media.

Be patient, burn slow, get great results :)
