Battlefield 1942 problem

I copied my friends' version of Battlefield 1942 using CloneCd after I installed it on my computer. When I put in the cd, the menu comes up and I hit play. The screen comes up for a couple seconds and then goes away and nothing else happens. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I beleive it's copy protection. Software obviously have copy protection so it tries to read CD media serial which cannot be copied easily because it's in special area of CD media.
