Note to MODS: I couldn't delete my original post 'Ripping for PPC'. There were too many questions on too many different topics. I'm seperating it out to the more appropriate forums.

Question: Any suggestion as to which DVD ripper offers the best quality? Doesn't matter if it's freeware/shareware/commercial. Thanks.

Ripping is the Process of Takeing the Data on a DVD/CD and Writeing it to your Hard Drive so when "Ripping" a DVD/CD there is no Quality Differance from the Original because it is just a Direct Transfer of Data from the DVD/CD to the Hard Drive....

I think what you are Talking about is Converting a DVD to a Different Format or maybe Compressing a DVD so it is Smaller so for instance you can Burn it to a DVD5??

So Please explain what Format(s) you want to convert your DVD too??(EG: DivX/VCD/SVCD/DVD Backup)

If you just want to "Rip" a DVD to your HD then I suggest either "DVD Decryptor" or "SmartRipper".....

Thanks for the reply!!

My goal is to get the best quality video and audio from my DVD source. The files would then be converted to .WMV for playback on my PPC. I had some playback issues with the first conversions (DVD to PPC 1.2.5 then A4U for conversion from .AVI to .WMV). So I'm trying to figure out all of the 'manual' pieces of the process so I can experiment with different settings to get the most accurate reproduction on my PPC.
