Well when burning PS2 games, what speed should I burn it at?
My burner has 16x speed for DVD+R or -R.
So what's the highest speed I can burn a DVD+R or -R without screwing up the game?

I usually burn mine at 2x but it really comes down to what kind of dvds you are using. I usually use Ritek and Ive burned them up to 8x before and the games work fine.

it depends on the quality of your dvds. the faster you burn, the higher the possibility of errors. the slower, the better. in general, 4x is a good speed. i burn at that with a Sony drive on Ritek dvd+r's (rated 8x) and i do just fine.

i agree with the above answers
I use Philips 8X DVD-R for games and Philips 8X DVD+R for movies and they always work great
I usually set DVD Decrypter to 1X because i know it will burn at the best speed for the media used. Like mine burns at 3.8X
4X has also worked well for me, but i would not suggest burning faster than 4X, and only do it with 8X discs.

Well I just hope that this is a good DVD burner:
BENQ DW 1620 Pro
16xDVD+R
16xDVD-R
4X Double Layer

Ok I'll burn my games at 1x. But just to be sure, is my DVD burner a good one?

Yea from my personal experience the speed at which you burn depends greatly on the media. Me and mt friend both use TYG02 media. He has an ND-3520a, and I have a Pioneer DVR-109. I'v never tried burnin games higher than at 8X, but he always burns his at a speed of 12X. He says he has no problems. Go figure

By media you mean the DVDs?
If it is the DVDs, well I got Memorex DVD+R 8x. Should be high quality since Memorex is trustworthy I guess.

Yea Memorex suck(unless you bought them to use them as frisbees)...
:)
Firstly I wouls suggest buying Fujifilm DVD+/-R which were MADE IN JAPAN. If it says MADE IN TAIWAN, DO NOT BUY IT!!!. If you can't get your hands on some Fujifilm, your next best bet is Verbatims, and then after that, RITEK. Hope this helps

Ok I'll go return it and try Fujifilm.
But where can you get verbatim and ritek?

I definitely know that if you go to Circuit City or Best Buy you can get Verbatim or Fujifilm there. I dunno what store you can get Ritek at, but you can get them online at maritline.com or supermediastore.com. BE CAREFUL OF FAKE RITEKS!!
edit-make that MERITLINE.com not maritline

Well I saw Fujifilm DVDs at future shop, but they were out of 100 pack ones that had a rebate.
And I'll probably try best buy(dunno if they openned it here yet).
I live in Canada and saw one so I'm not sure if they finish constructing.

Edit: Nevermind I checked it at bestbuycanada and it's open.
