I am wondering if anyone knows how to remove a hash function from a video? By the hash function, I mean what certain websites use to essentially give a "fingerprint" to videos. I do not even know if it is possible to remove these hash functions, but if it is, I would like to know how. Thanks.

Do you Mean Like a Logo over the Image?? if the Logo is part of the Video then it can not be Removed unless of cource you Crop it out of the Image but you will also loose so resolution and Part of the Screen that way....

So you either deal with it or Crop it out there is no other way arround it....

cheers

I don't mean a image or anything like that. What I mean is what websites like bitziticket (used with limewire) and other sites like that use to correlate the hash functions to a certain file. I do not know what exactly a hash function is or where it is in the file itself, but I do know that it is there because it is how bitziticket can identify various files. Thanks.

You mean that Sort of Hash ....

All Files that you download on a P2p Have a Hash and it isn"t the Type of Thing you can Remove as it isn"t really the File that has the Hash it is How P2P networks Identify different Files so if you don"t want a P2P to recognize a File you have then don"t make the File available to Download ......

Thanks. I did not fully understand what the hash meant. I thought maybe it was something that could be removed with some sort of program. I surfed online but could not find a definitive answer. Oh well, thanks again.

Well a hash as in CRC, MD5, etc. is calculated from the file. So if you were to trim even on byte or change a value with a hex editor, the hash would change.
