Has anyone been successfull in backing up Disney's "Around the world in 80 day's"?

I started using "DVD Shrink" but it ended up giving me a cylinder blah blah check problem. Or something similar to that. I then tried just to get it to the HD and "Smartripper" would not get through the encryption either. It was giving bad block error's. I am currently using the latest "DVD Decrypter" :( sniffle... It seems to be a little more willing then all the other methods used. But I am sitting at 55% total completion and it is grinding. I have logged approximately 52 minutes and 214 retries. The good sign so far is the "DVD Decrypter" has not stopped.

By the way I have run "Anydvd" on and off to see if that made any difference and to no avail it couldn't offer any help either.

Anyone else know of any better methods with this title? Hopefully at this rate it may complete in a week or so hehe. All help is welcome :)

CRC errors are generally bad news. It means that the disk has some "unreadable" areas on it. It can be due to being scratched, dirty, or often times a bad pressing. Try this.
1. Clean your disk really well
2. Fine tune DVD Decrypter with settings according to ScubaPetes guide:
http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/petesguide9.html
3. Try again using DVD Decrypter
If that doesn't work, then exchange or return disk.

PS: If you have had that many retry problems, you probably need to check to see if you still have DMA on. Often times Win XP reverts to PIO mode after so many retry failures....See BBMayo guides for checking and changing DMA

Also ck this thread out if you have scratched disk:

Sorry, Bbmayo guides are gone. He left and took the guides with him.

Common answer to ripping problems: Use DVD Decrypter first!

Well, as I received feedback from LABOY "DVD Decrypter" stopped. I hit retry and bam. It went on. The disc is in good condition but a little rotation on the cd tray and it flew right on through. I do appreciate the feedback on this LABOY and indeed that was the problem. You posted up some good info for future reference and I thank you :)

Trenlor: good for you! DVD Decryper is still an invaluable tool in the ripping/Burning software toolbox. Even though it is no longer available, it is still current as of to-date, not to mention the many thousands of oldies out there....
