one of my freinds set up files on my psp mem card, they all work fine now, but it wont let me put a mpeg file of 'the simpsons' or other videos from my computer on it... it takes up the space on the card, but the psp says there is no video files. Anyone know why this is?

Thanks

MRAW = hmmmmmm, are they in mpeg4? or only mpeg?

Ryanjenks = How are you converting? from cd to mp3? or from .wav to mp3?

Sp1tfire = You need the images saved on your computer first, and then put them on your psp.

hi, i need some help here.. i just bought my black psp today along with a highspeed usb cable.. when i reached home, i connected the psp to my pc using the usb connector( yes, i on the usb mode).. my win xp detected the usb mass storage(in My Computer, it stated D drive) my firmware is 2.5.. getting excited, i drag one of my mp3 into the D:/psp/music folder.. and within secs, a error msg pops up, it says (cannot copy blahblah, can't find the specific file, make sure u specify the correct path and file name) not giving up, i went to the D drive again, 0_0!! all the folders in the D drive is gone, including the Psp folder.. when i restarted the psp again, the folders is there again.. yes, i formatted the memory sticks, i got a sony 1gb highspeed stick and a normal 32mb.. i tried both.. the usb connector and psp are both brand new and my pc never gave me any problems b4.. Help me, guys... =(

OK junkball,
It should be one of these 2 things.

1. Try using another USB cabel. Another user had a similer problem with currupt mp3 files and found out it was a bas USB cabel that was causing them.

2. Instead of draging and droping, do a copy and paste. (not a cut and paste). Single left click on the mp3 on your pc so it is highlighted. then hold down control and press c. then bring up the music folder on you psp so the folder is open. once you are inside the folder click on a white space in the window and then hold down control and press v. if you dont get any kind of error message then it should work. you can now disconnect you psp and try playing you mp3's on you psp you just transfered.

Let me know if this worked for you. If not we will try other things.

have you formated your memory stick, and put them in the music file under the psp file, so its like this

PSP>PHOTO>!!!

And what firmwire do you have?

Yes! you will loose all your stuff stored on the memory stick.

Solution - back it up on your pc by copy and paste the psp folder on to your hard drive. Then when you format the stick just move the important back up files to your newly formated memory stick.
