I recently downloaded DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. I also have Nero 5.5. My question is that if I want a sure fire way to backup DVDs what process do I follow? Which program do I run first? Just need some basic instructions. Thanks all

hi there

this is a quick step by step process pretty small process but i hope it helps:

Steps
-----

1. Use DVD Decrypter to burn the whole thing to your hard drive.

2. Use shrink to compress the whole thing to fit on to a blank DVD.

3. Then use a DVD burning program to put it on the DVD. (i personally like Clone DVD and use AnyDVD to help the process)

With Nero it should b as easy as just to go through the wizard and burn the movie after u have shrunk it.

Go to the page top and click the GUIDE tab. There are great guides for most of the programs and processes.

Thanks guys. I did check the guides but it just did not have one that uses both of the tools at the same time. Thanks again.

U cant really use them at the same time
u have to use decrypter first and then shrink and then ur DVD Burner program

Under Shrinks settings is a box to check if you want to burn with Nero. If you uncheck the Nero box, Shrink will default to using Decrypter as the burn engine. Either way the burn program you choose (Nero or Decrypter) will auto start after you finish with Shrink. So you can rip to your HD with Decrypter, then open those files with Shrink to edit and compress, and then finish the burn with either Nero or Decrypter automatically. Hope this helps.
