Ok I bought a dvd recently and I cant seem to be able to burn my movie on a dvd disc to view on my dvd player. The file was a .mpeg and I used DixvtoDVD to convert the file. With my dvd burner came NTI 7 and I had previously Nero 5.5.9.9 (came with cd burner). When I tried to burn a movie using NTI Video_TS it played in the dvd burner but nowhere else. When I used nero my real player on computer recognized a dvd but said title 1 and nothing happened while on my dvd player attached to tv it said loading and nothing ever happens. I'm now totally stuck and dont know what to do. Also me DVD player is a samsung DVD-P242 if that is needed

It sounds like you are burning a data disc rather than a dvd compliant disc. Rip your original with DVD Decrypter then compress/re-author with DVD Shrink. Here's a guide

Yeah ok, you have a mpeg file you want to convert. You load the mpeg into DixvtoDVD, click convert and at the end a video_ts folder is created. Open Nero and select dvd-video, open the video_ts folder and select all files, then burn it. I can't remember 5.5.9.9, but are you burning the folder itself as data or the files inside the folder as a video disc?

What I tried was opening Nero going to DVD Video-files then click add then I find the video_ts folder and click add and the files go on. But when I burn this it does not work does it have something to do with authoring? because when I go over the DVD video-files button the description mention I have to use a authoring program like NerVision?

I don't remember 5.5.9.9, but separate authoring tools are not needed. Divxtodvd creates all needed files. Burning all files in the video_ts folder creates a dvd compliant disc. Are you burning on +Rs or -Rs? How old is your dvd player?

I tried both +RW and +R disc's, the dvd player is a Samsung P242 and was received at christmas so cant be too old.

Have you ever played a +R disc on your dvd player? Can you try burning on a -R?

maybe your mpeg was a different region code. Try to convert again (provided you still have the mpeg) and in divx2dvd select Force NTSC or PAL, depending on where in the world you live. NTSC is US and Canada, PAL is most of the rest of the world.
