Sorry if there is a thread to help me out. Hi now I have wasted about 20 dvds and my dvd player just says no disc. I know that this player will play dvd-R and RW as have manual. My problem begins. I followed the complete guide for newbies for converting avi files to dvd. I have all the programs and did exactly what they said to do. The only thing I was unsure off was when it asked if the audio was AC or Mp3 it was neither divx or something. After using nero to burn I checked it on the computer and the movie came up but no audio. I then put it in the home dvd player and it said no disc. Please somebody help me, I have spent over 20 hrs converting this stupid bloodsport movie. xx
Okay not sure if all information is provided but here goes. Microsoft windows xp,pentium 4, 3.00Ghz, 384 MBRAM. I have installed k-lite 2.49 full, divx, xvid, alpha3.11,ifo edit,TMPGEnc, Nero 6 ultra edition, AVIcodec, real alternative. The AVI file downloaded was a divx3 being new to this I just downloaded the alpha codec because it said it needed that to play.Using AVIcodec display was;
File: 673 MB (673 MB), duration: 1:26:41, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 50 %
Audio : 39 MB, 64 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 channels, 0x161 = WMA 2 (v7,v8) or Divx audio v4, Supported
I followed the newbie guide to converting AVI files to dvd. Hope I gave you the right info. Thanks
with my experience with codecs is i used to load all sorts like and apps would load allsorts too, but found ok yes all things worked, but i have seen here that a mas of codecs can make things worse, so i did a fresh install of windows xp pro then load the FULL k-lite pack but found this SUCKED! so got rid of that and ried the MEGA pack and that is the only codec pack i got installed! and everything so far works great! so thats one thing...
now i think you may have 2 problems here! as video play from the dvdr on your pc ok! and not on the standalone player so could be the disc compatibilty issue rearing its head here!
what id code ison the disc you have? use dvdinfo pro or dvd identifier to tell us here!
also the second problem i think is codecs as you need them to view and uncompress and compress, basically to do anything with video files and audio, so they need to be right!
MEGA pack carries every codec needed...so i gather and this is what i use!
your audi is windows media player so it could be a codec related to this thats not allowing conversion, but i never used an AVI with wma only ac3/mpe3 etc...
