I am having a problem with a few movies that have multiple main movie titles - for example Van Helsing. In Full Disc mode it shows the movie title as unsplittable and over 4 hours long.

If I go to Re-Author mode then I can split the titles and just back up one of them, but in Full Disc mode they are shown as one file.

Is there any way to split these files in Full Disc mode so that I can get rid of one title and get a better compression rate? I figure I am losing a huge slice of quality by backing up two movie titles when I only need one!

Okay, thanks in advance for any advice!

They are both complete movies. I've never found what the difference is between them (maybe one has multiple angles?).

Usually 2 main titles differ in aspect ratio - widescreen or full screen. But for Van Helsing, mine are both widescreen. I don't think you'll lose anything by just picking one. They're both the same size and runtime.

In full disc mode, you're backing up everything on the disc. If you want to burn just one title, use the reauthor mode to drag the title you want from the right side to the left side, and drag over any extras you want also, though the menus won't work. The extras will just play after the movie is done. Then hit Backup! and away you go.

This is my first post here, but I ran into this issue before as well.

I copied a movie using decrypter, and then DVD Shrink, and saw two main titles under reauthor. I chose the second one (I think the movie was Troy) because they looked identical when I previewed them. Upon viewing the movie on my player, when there was text on the screen explaining for example where a place was, it was in French. I guess I chose the wrong one (I always turn off the sub-titles to get a little higher on the compression).

Ever since then, I check both titles in the preview pane for instances when text appears on the screen, to see which one is the french version.

It sounds to me like what you want to do is burn only one of those titles and keep the extras (menus)? If that is the case then you really can't do that with Shrink properly unless you do as GT50 has already suggested, but this will make your menus useless. So if what you want is just the one title and a fully functional menu then I would suggest you use CloneDVD2 this will do what you are trying to do with ease. Or you could try VobBlanker which will work also but be a little harder to use.

Cheers
