I use smart ripper and intervideo DVD copy or DVD shrink/Nero and either way I sometimes see nmovies freeze while watching on DVD player. The movie will play fine for a while and then freeze. Sometimes the movie freezes only for a moment and continues from the same spot, but sometimes it completely freezes, and the movie becomes unplayable or a stretch of the movie becomes unplayable. Any ideas??

sounds like a media problem , maybe get some Ritek G05 or Taiyo Yuden blanks would be my suggestion

As herbsman states it is probably a media problem, try using better quality media. Also, check and make sure your burner firmware is up to date, this can also help with media recognition and burning. :~)
