Hey guys whats up im new here and i signed up because everyone here seems really helpful from what im reading in the forums. I have a problem and i really need help guys. I had a video file that was divx (mpeg4) and i converted it to a dvd .vob file using Imtoo Mpeg Encoder. Im not sure if its a good program but i got the full version from someone and it seemed easy. Well the mpeg4 video coverted fine with no problems and now i have the single .vob file that it created. The .vob file plays fine on my computer with power dvd with sound and everything. So i used Nero 6.6.0.3 UE to burn the .vob file by choosing the make dvd option. Well it took forever because it transcoded and burned the dvd at the same time. So 9 hours later lol the dvd finished and much to my surprise there was no audio playback. What should i do? i still have the .vob file on my computer that i made from the divx mpeg4 file. Appreciate any help cause im stuck on what to do

Also when i load the disc in dvd shrink under the AUDIO section it says
AC3 2-ch Unspecified 83mb

what does that mean?

In order to burn a VOB to dvd you must have corresponding ifo files and bup files to tell the dvd player what to do. To convert the VOB you have to a dvd try vsodivxtodvd. You can do it with one click and the program will create all of the necessary files for you. There will be a VIDEO_TS folder and in order to get a compliant dvd there must be an AUDIO_TS folder as well, but it must be empty when you burn the dvd. In Nero just pick burn dvd video files and it will create the folders for you. Just copy all the files out of the VIDEO_TS folder created by divxtodvd into the same folder in the Nero compilation. If you ever get another divx file this program can convert it to a dvd as well.

Nero doesn't work well with Divx, or vobs converted from it. Anyway, if you use Imtoo, you may try convert to mpeg2 instead. Alternatively, you may use DivxToDVD (free program) for converting the divx file to DVD compliant format, then Nero for the final burning.
Good luck!

If you want a real experience in frustration, tell Nero about you problem. After a couple of weeks of sending them details of how you are performing the procedure using NeroVision Express (NVE), they will have someone who barely speaks English email you with unclear sentences to tell you that they don't see anything wrong with their program.
Actually, NVE is supposed to be able to create a DVD from a VOB file as well as from other formats. However, I have had the same problem as austin3 and haven't been able to solve it, nor have I received any reasonable help from them. Also, I am using NVE version 3.

Yes, I learned the same about NVE myself. It appears that NVE works very well with Xvid, but not Divx.
