I recently purchased a system with an ATI Theater based TV turner card. Before I purchased the system I did some reading here about cards and noticed a number of post recommending an aftermarket software used to control the cards, program channel selection, record a show, like a TIVO. Now I can?t find the post about this software. If I remember correctly it was Donation ware.

there's a bunch of different ones. SageTV is one I know. Try googling for PC PVR or something like that, I'm sure there's dozens of apps like that

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:
