This may be a relatively simple and dumb question (but those of us who are running low on DVD-R's cant really use trial & error). But if i copy one of my backups, will it give me the same quality on another dvd-r? i didnt save my encoded files and it takes 2 1/2 hours to reencode. But like i said, will it work to copy a backup?

It should not be a problem. The quality will be the same because you are simply copying the ones and zeros from the source and writing the same to the blank disc.

As long as you used good media it should copy without a problem.
Just use the "copy disc" feature in your burning program,or DVD Decrypter and click mode...iso read....then iso write.
