I understand this thread will prolly close. But i was wondering if that for a moment someone could read this and give me some insight. I am trying to rip these DVDs to my HDD, not to copy them. I tried to use AnyDVD and that program killed my computer because it caused a fatal error every startup. I had to go through Safe Mode to fix the problem.

So now to my problem. when i begin to rip i get the begining of the movie to start showing until the "A Long Time Ago, In a Galaxy Far, Far Away" thing to show up, then it starts flipping between diff. languages, and starts being jumpy (almost as if it was having lag problems like on CS:S, you know back and forth motion?) And it does that for awhile then straightens out and finishes the movie, but aparently not all the way because my computer is under the notion that the file is supposed to be "X" mb big, and the error at the beginning is screwing it up. I'm using DVD Decrypter, a trial version of DVD Fab, DVD Shrink, and Super DVD Ripper, and i'm still trying to see if a combination of any of those programs will do it for me. Any ideas, or help would be appreciated. Thanks, if i get something to work, i'll post.

trombone3,
Welcome to the forum. If I want to put a movie on the HD I use DVDDecrypter file mode all of the files and it works fine. It really sounds like you are having computer problems. You need to google for a registry cleaner and clean up any registry conflicts that are there. AnyDVD should not cause a fatal error code if the computer is set up properly.
You stated when you begin to rip the movie it gets jumpy and starts to flip. If you are ripping w/ DVDDecrypter you will not see any movie when it rips. Now if the problem is after ripping then either you have a bad press or the computer is acting up. If you can post the DVDDecrypter log of the rip. If you are doing the Star Wars movies then DVDDecrypter will rip it unless it is a bad press then nothing will rip it properly

trombone3,
Commerical DVD's are pressed together ( fused ) as one layer is fused to the other layer. A bad press is when the duplicating company, the movie company hired to make the movie, has a problem w/ the press. The problem could be a bubble on the disk or the layer break could be screwed up or alot of other things could be wrong w/ the new disk. Now a DVD Player will probably read the DVD fine as it is more forgiving than a computer. When you rip a movie it has to have no errors on it so the burner and program can read the disk properly and then burn the compilation properly
