i bought a couple of mirror platinum dvd+r 4x about a year ago now and burned some divx files on 1 of them. last night i decided to watch one of the divx's and the purple dye on the edge of the disc had dissapeared, my drive didnt read it at all and i had to scrap the disc. i thought mirror was supposed to be good media. anybody else has this problem?

im sorry to hear of your misfortune, you were misinformed about "mirror" being good media, im sorry to say, that statement is FAR from the truth:

Mirror Platinum DVD+R 4.7GB ........001 4x

Mirror Platinum DVD+R 4.7GB IS01....001 4x

Mirror Platinum DVD+R 4.7GB MEDIA ID001 4x

Mirror Platinum DVD+R 4.7GB VDSPMSAB001 4x

the ONLY decent one i could find with the "mirror" branding are :

Mirror Platinum DVD+R 4.7GB YUDEN000T02 8x

but i don't know if they are AUTHENTIC or not, never tried them~
with the 4x media, those have got to be some of the most generic media ID codes i have ever seen~ can't be too good, sorry to say :P

i've come across a couple Mirror DVD's too, not what you'd call decent quality by any stretch of the imagination..

Cam across a thread today with 'IS01' codes, not good and have come across them before, not good. As far as i'm aware Mirror are budget discs.
