error message: out of disk space

I am decoding a movie using DVD Decrypter. It runs all the way to 99% then I get an error message saying it cannot write to the drive, there is not enough disk space. The file is 8gb, the hard drive has 38gb free. What do I do? Thanks for any help.

Try emptying your recycle bin and deragmenting your hdd.

Hi there,
Please give us a little bit more details...
What movie are you trying to rip ?
Using the latest DVD Decrypter v3.5.4.0 ?
I assume you are using Windows XP with NTFS ?
Do you have DVD43 and/or AnyDVD running in the background ?
Did you defrag your drives lately ?
Are you having hard drive issues ? Maybe it tryed to write the last block and the HD chocked ?
All those answers will help others help you !

hi
as mentioned above!
but empty recycle bin and if you have norton installed it may be holding files in a second recylce bin (right click on the recycle bin to see this and empty it)
empty your temp folders there are 2 on xp!
empty your internet folder from your browser window / TOOLS / INTERNET OPTIONS blar blar....
turn off system restore then turn it straight back on! found in control panel / system i think?
then DEFRAG! it will make it faster running!

Sorry, should have noted system and programming. Running win98 se, DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0, DVD Shrink 32. I have 1Click DVD Copy or CopyToDVD for burning. The movie is Hostage, Bruce Willis new release.
I ran DVD Shrink after the first time this happened, Re-Author, Main Movie only and it ran fine, but the files were not recognized by any of my burn software or DVD Decrypter.
Please explain how to DeFrag my HD, or direct me to an explanation.
Am still confused about this because DVD Decrypter itself shows the HD with more than 30gigs available and only an 8gig file to be written.
Thanks so far and I apologize for my ignorance, but this is the thread for newbies so I appreciate your patience.

Since your running win98 you're probably FAT32 and really should convert to NTFS for video files.
To defrag the hdd click start, click my computer, right click on the hdd, click properties, click tools, click defragment now. This should be done at least once a month if not more.

If you are making an ISO with Shrink, you can burn with Decrypter but you can't burn with Decrypter if you are making DVD-video files with Shrink (a bunch of VOB, IFO and BUP). Burning ISOs with other software usually requires you to choose the burn disc image or burn ISO option in the software.
